The first few comics I drew in 2015 for SFU's newspaper The Peak. Besides Mystic Man, my earlier comics also included a secondary strip entitled "Jeremy's Excuses", a strip about a university student who often finds himself making outrageous excuses, only for them to be justified with bizarre circumstances.
The first set encompasses sort of a building block for the type of humor I wanted to go with, becoming more consistent in later comics.
At the time, I was also was not very experienced in paneling my comics very well, having odd numbers of panels that weren't 4, 8, or 12. I also wasn't very cautious on the amount of space I would dedicate to speech bubbles. Both of these issues however, were solved once I accumulated more experience.
Despite this, Mystic Man's debut really sets the tone for what sort of series it was to become and Mystic Man #1 is still one of my favorites.
